![]() ![]() Some say that he may be related to Aperture Science because of these abilities. It appears shortened after I removed a ton of speculation that had no place in the bulk of the article. The (06:27, 9 February 2009) edit shortened this page quite a lot please try and replace the information taken out thank you diobern 15:03, 9 February 2009 (UTC) SteveZombie ( talk) 21:56, Septem(UTC) too short Whether or not I in fact have once again, my thoughts on this at the moment are that this could have been considered Hob-nob's choice if the alternative to the G-Man's generous offer was in fact to remain on the space tram, but that doesn't appear to have been a choice it's not really a case of one choice under the appearance of being two, but rather the space tram itself would be the point at which the two prongs of this metaphorical fork diverge: the choice between entering into his employment or getting roflstomped. I actually had to read things over again in order to remind myself how I arrived at the conclusion I did before. In the article's prototypical example of a Hobson's choice: whether to rent the one offered horse or just continue on foot, staying on the tram is equivalent to continuing on foot, as in both cases, that's what you were already doing. ![]() If you choose not to, you're still stuck on the tram, but that was a pre-existing reality because you were already there - it's not part of the choice. Hence, the situation really is "take it or leave it," as the only decision to be made is whether to accept his offer for a battle you can't win or not. There is no possibility of him escaping regardless of what he does, unless he accepts G-Man's offer. ![]() However, I think it's close enough to count, with the explanation that at the time the choice is presented, Gordon is already trapped on the space tram. It doesn't seem that G-Man's offer really qualifies as a Hobson's Choice, at first, and I think that's going to be a lot of peoples' first reaction. I know Steve's comment is old, but my initial reaction was similar to his, so I thought I'd comment on the matter. But isn't the statement that Gordon's choice at the end of Half-Life is a Hobson's choice directly contradicted by the article about Hobson's choice? SteveZombie 23:16, Novem(UTC) I don't want to start a whole new topic for the sake of a little nitpicking, so I'll voice my concern here. If I may ask, could I have permission to remove either the "In-game appearances" or "List of exact in-game locations"? It seems overly redundant to have two sections in the article that are basically the same thing and the article would be much more concise without one of them. ![]() Check the list of sources at the bottom. ) ( Strat-N8 06:34, 9 February 2009 (UTC)) The Article has a link to an image I believe. 10 Scientists sentence from G-Man Appearance in Anomalous MaterialsÄoes anybody have a picture of the briefcase's contents?
